Well, the problem won’t go away till you deal with it.

Funeral Plans – Costs are still key but there are other considerations:

Freezing funeral costs at today’s prices and before they go up is still the primary reason for taking out a funeral plan. The figures: According to the latest Cost of Dying report projections, the price of a basic funeral could rise to £5,044 by 2025 (SunLife’s 2021 Cost of Dying Report).

With plans starting at just £1,895, fixing your costs today could be a sound financial move for you and your family. In 2020, 51% used savings and investments to pay for a funeral and only 35% a pre-paid funeral plan. 17% of over-50s used their life insurance. Over half of the population could still save £1000s on funeral costs by taking out a Funeral Plan

In 2020, cremations remained the most popular choice of funerals – and the number of direct cremations rose substantially. We can offer a plan for that. Cremations account for 74% of funerals and 59% of people are now aware of direct cremations.

Whether it’s a burial, traditional cremation, or simple direct cremation, we can offer a range of options to suit every taste and budget.

Even though funerals are increasingly seen as a ‘celebration of life’ rather than a solemn farewell, most relatives still aren’t 100% sure what their loved ones would want. We can offer free help and guidance in deciding what type of funeral you prefer. It is very important to get it right as the funeral will very much determine how family and friends will remember you. And it doesn’t need to be all doom and gloom; this extract from the SunLife’s 2021 Cost of Dying Report

“There was a farmer that lived in his wellies…we cut the bottoms off and screwed them to the coffin so it looked like his feet were sticking out.”

Can you imagine how that lifted the gloom to the proceedings

According to the Report, 99% don’t know all their loved ones’ funeral wishes. In fact, 17% don’t know any of their wishes at all. Given that it is 99%, that probably includes you and your parents.

Our funeral plans aren’t just about saving money. They’re about making sure customers get the send-off they want. Talking about end of life and making sure everyone knows what they want and how it will be paid for, should be part of life.

Even though funerals are increasingly seen as a ‘celebration of life’ rather than a solemn farewell, most relatives still aren’t 100% sure what their loved ones would want.
